IPL 2024: Chennai Super Kings strongest predicted XI against Royal Challengers Bengaluru

Chennai Super Kings will play their final group game of Indian Premier League 2024 knowing that they are almost through to the playoff stages. All the defending champions have to do is make sure they don’t lose to Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

The season began with a major shock when it came to light that MS Dhoni had stepped down as the skipper of the team. The captaincy transition was smooth and seamless that Ruturaj Gaikwad has settled into the helm of affairs effortlessly.

The loss of Matheesha Pathirana and Deepak Chahar to injuries came to haunt the CSK side. Although, Tushar Deshpande and Simarjeet Singh have stood to be counted, it is the batting of skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad that has made sure that CSK do not lose their way.

Openers – Rachin Ravindra and Ruturaj Gaikwad 

The constant failures of Ajinkya Rahane prompted Chennai Super Kings to take a second look at Rachin Ravindra. The youngster from New Zealand scored an important 27 runs in a difficult run chase against Rajasthan Royals to give CSK a good start with the bat.

Ruturaj Gaikwad has been a key player for the Chennai Super Kings this year both as a batter and skipper. The 27-year-old scored an impressive 42 not out to shepherd his side to a win in a low-scoring against the Royals last weekend.

Middle-order – Shivam Dube, Sameer Rizvi, and MS Dhoni

In the last five games of IPL 2024, the normally blazing blade of Shivam Dube has fallen quiet. Chennai Super Kings will hope that the 30-year-old can find his form and continue his punishing form against the RCB bowlers.

Sameer Rizvi will have a huge role to play for CSK as Moeen Ali has gone home for international commitments. The youngster from UP played a breezy knock of 15 not out from eight balls in the win over Royals and will continue to sizzle with the bat once more.

One man who will unify the two fanatic fan-bases is none other than MS Dhoni. The former India and CSK skipper will play potentially his final game at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. The 42-year-old has had a lot of happy memories at this ground with the men in yellow. 

All-rounders – Daryl Mitchell and Ravindra Jadeja

Kiwi all-rounder Daryl Mitchell has become a key player for Chennai Super Kings with the bat. The right-handed batter has been batting well since his move to the number 3 position and has already scored a few key runs for his side,

Ravindra Jadeja has been one of the players who has given CSK the much-needed depth with the bat during the ongoing season. His match winning knock against Punjab Kings in Dharamsala being a good case in point. The 35-year-old will also hope to do well with the ball in what has been a below par bowling season.

Stephen Fleming and Ruturaj Gaikwad will hope that the struggling duo, Mitchell Santner and Shardul Thakur, can come good at this crucial juncture. The two stars have a huge role to play with the CSK bowlers losing two of their key bowlers to fitness concerns.
