Middle-order: Sai Sudharsan, Shahrukh Khan, David Miller
GT's middle-order is their main strength, especially due to the consistent performances of youngster Sai Sudharsan. The southpaw is currently the third-leading run-scorer with 418 runs at an average of 46.44. He brings stability in the middle overs and sets the tone for the finishers to lead the team to good scores.
Shahrukh Khan slammed his maiden half-century in the IPL in the last match against RCB. Coming in at No.4, he stitched a crucial 80-plus partnership with Sudarshan. His promotion up the batting order has worked well and he is likely to continue in that role. David Miller has the task of giving the team a solid finish and he has been doing it decently in recent matches.
All-rounder: Azmatullah Omarzai, Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan
Azmatullah Omarzai did not deliver the desired returns for the franchise in both departments. While the Afghanistan cricketer has bowled economically, he has failed to take wickets consistently and has yet to make an impact in the batting department. GT didn't use Rahul Tewatia's spin bowling much, but they made good use of his finishing prowess.
Rashid Khan is a key asset for the 2022 champions, but it is doubtful whether GT got his full potential this season. The Afghanistan skipper has not been a threat in either department as he has been in previous years. He had a forgettable outing in the last match against RCB, conceding 51 runs in four overs, including 29 runs in a single over.
