IPL 2024: Lucknow Super Giants' strongest predicted playing XI against Gujarat Titans
Lucknow Super Giants are going to host Gujarat Titans at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Sunday, April 7.
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are going to host Gujarat Titans (GT) in the 21st match of the Indian Premier League 2024 season. The match is set to be played out at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. Both these teams have had great encounters over the past two seasons and the fans are anticipating another thriller between the sides.
Gujarat Titans come into the game on the back of a defeat in their last game against Punjab Kings. Meanwhile, Lucknow Super Giants had a fantastic game against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in their previous encounter in the tournament. Ahead of their game against the Gujarat Titans, let’s take a look at how the home side would line up tomorrow.

Here is the probable playing XI for LSG for the match against GT in IPL 2024, Match 21 -
Openers: Quinton de Kock and KL Rahul (C & WK)
Lucknow Super Giants have continued to go with a strong opening pair this season as well and have backed Quinton de Kock to bat alongside skipper KL Rahul at the top. Their combination has been great for the side thus far in the competition as De Kock starts aggressively and gives his side the momentum. Meanwhile, KL Rahul looks to settle in and bat for as long as possible.
This approach has its pros and cons but it has worked well so far for the Lucknow Super Giants. The opening duo would look to do the same against the Gujarat Titans and post a big score on the board. If this opening pair can survive the powerplay and not lose their wicket, it tends to get dangerous for the opposition as they then try and capitalize on every opportunity they get.

Middle Order - Devdutt Padikkal, Nicholas Pooran, Deepak Hooda
Devdutt Padikkal is still currently batting in his not-so-preferred middle order slot and has been struggling for runs this season. Although, he has the potential and this is what is driving the team management who have backed him so far. The left-handed batter just needs one strong innings to get his confidence back and that might just happen at the team’s home stadium on Sunday.
Nicholas Pooran has been the finisher that has been taking Lucknow Super Giants to big scores in this Indian Premier League season. His small cameos have been splendid to watch and if he can continue his good run of form, he can be one of the most dangerous batters of this Lucknow franchise.
There is also the curious case of Deepak Hooda that needs to be discussed. He performed well when he got the time in the middle with the bat. The right-handed batter was able to take his side out from a precarious position against RR as they had lost three wickets for barely anything on the scoreboard. He would be looking to improve and make most of his opportunities in the upcoming game against Gujarat Titans.

All-rounders - Krunal Pandya, Marcus Stoinis
Prior to the start of the season, Krunal Pandya was stripped of the vice-captaincy role which sparked some controversy. However, the all-rounder did not let the performances get affected at all. He has been one of the most consistent players for the franchise this season as he has been performing well with both bat and ball. Moreover, his bowling economy has improved a lot during this campaign.
Stoinis, the Australian all-rounder, has not had the desired start to the Indian Premier League campaign like he would have wanted. In three innings with the bat, he has been able to collect only 46 runs. But on a positive note, he has been batting aggressively for the side as he is striking at 146.

Bowlers - Ravi Bishnoi, Manimaran Siddharth, Mayank Yadav, Yash Thakur
The Team India spinner has not been in great form this season as he has taken only one wicket so far in this campaign. To make matters worse, his economy is nearly 10 and is leaking runs at a very high rate. However, once he picks up his rhythm, he can be one of the most lethal players with the ball for the franchise.
Manimaran Siddharth would be delighted after his great performance against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in their previous game in the Indian Premier League. His spell during the Powerplay was mesmerizing to watch as he troubled the batters with his variations and accuracy. The 25-year-old might want to continue his great form in the next game against Gujarat Titans.
The name of Mayank Yadav is now being heard by every cricket fan around the world. The menace that he has created within just two games has been astonishing to witness. He has been bowling at a rapid speed and that has caused a lot of trouble to the opposition batters. The pressure he creates with his pace yields him wickets more often than not.
Yash Thakur was roped into the team after the franchise's primary fast bowler Mohsin Khan was ruled out of the previous game due to a niggle. There is no news on the latter’s availability as of now, and it looks likely that Thakur might continue in the playing XI.
