IPL 2024: Rating the most expensive flops after league stage
Some of the players performed badly despite being paid highly by their franchises.
9. Devdutt Padikkal
Coming into the IPL 2024, Devdutt Padikkal had good numbers for Karnataka in the domestic tournaments. The Southpaw was poor for LSG in the chances he got. He was picked by the Lucknow-base franchise for a price of 7.75 crores. In seven innings, the southpaw scored 38 runs at a poor batting average of 5.42 and an SR of 71.69.
10. Anrich Nortje
Anrich Nortje is probably the biggest disappointment of the IPL 2024. The South African had terrible performances for DC on a consistent basis and never seemed to be at his best. The star bowler was retained for a price of INR 6.50 crores. The express pacer claimed seven wickets in six matches at a bowling average of 42.00, a bowling SR of 18.85, and an economy rate of 13.36.
