IPL 2024: Sunrisers Hyderabad strongest predicted playing XI against Kolkata Knight Riders

Game 3 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) will feature a clash between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens, in Kolkata, on March 23. Both sides had a season to forget in 2023 and will be keen on putting in improved performances in the upcoming season. 

Sunrisers Hyderabad finished in last place in the IPL 2023 standings, failing to make it to the knockout stages. However, under the new leadership of Pat Cummins and the likes of Travis Head in their squad, Hyderabad will aim to do better and register their first win of the season. Openers: Mayank Agarwal, Travis Head

Sunrisers Hyderabad will look to open with Mayank Agarwal as one of the batters. Agarwal has been a dependable option in the IPL and has proven himself on the biggest stage. It is worth noting that in the IPL 2023, Mayank Agarwal played 10 matches in the tournament, scoring 270 runs with a high score of 83 and maintaining an average of 27 runs. 

Travis Head will be the second half of the opening pair for Sunrisers Hyderabad. The star Australian batter is one of the best in world cricket and has played 10 games in the marquee tournament so far, where he has 203 runs to his name. He will hope to put in good showings in the IPL 2024 and get SRH off to a good start.

Middle Order: Aiden Markram, Abhishek Sharma, Heinrich Klaasen (wk), Abdul Samad

The middle order of SRH features some excellent batters. Former skipper Aiden Markram will look to lead the charge for his side in the IPL 2024. The star Proteas batter scored 248 runs in 13 matches in the previous season, and his performances will be key for Hyderabad in the upcoming season. 

Abhishek Sharma will be another crucial addition to Sunrisers Hyderabad’s lineup. The 23-year-old played 11 games in the IPL 2023, where he managed to amass 226 runs to his name, maintained an average of 20.55, and scored two half-centuries as well.

Heinrich Klaasen will take on the role of wicketkeeper for SRH. Klaasen has been exceptional for SRH and was one of the top performers in the IPL 2023. With 448 runs in 19 matches in the 16th edition, Klaasen will once again look to put in his best showings of the season. 

Abdul Samad will complete Sunrisers Hyderabad’s middle order. The youngster played nine games for the side in the IPL 2023, where he managed to score 169 runs to his name and was impressed with the number of chances he got.

All-rounders - Washington Sundar

India’s Washington Sundar can be one of the key all-rounders in Sunrisers Hyderabad’s squad. Sundar was a sporadic player in the IPL 2023, featuring in just seven matches across the season. However, the star all-rounder scored just 60 runs and took three wickets in the seven matches. As the new season approaches, Sundar will strive to improve his performance even further. 

Bowlers - Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Pat Cummins (c), Umran Malik, Mayank Markande

The side’s bowling lineup is where Sunrisers Hyderabad will strive to go big. Veteran Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar will lead from the front. Kumar has been exceptional for various sides throughout his IPL career. In the IPL 2023, Kumar took 16 wickets in the 14 matches that he played in, and his spell could be key in the upcoming season as well.

 The latest addition to Sunrisers Hyderabad’s lineup will be Australian pacer Pat Cummins. The World Cup winner will be the captain of Hyderabad in the IPL 2024 season. The skipper has played 42 matches in his IPL career and has taken 45 wickets. His performance and leadership could be crucial to Hyderabad’s journey to securing their second IPL title. 

Young Indian pacer Umran Malik will be another player in Sunrisers Hyderabad’s lineup. Still developing into a full-fledged star, Malik will aim to make the most of the opportunities provided to him. Taking 29 wickets in the 25 IPL games that he has played, Malik could be a dangerous addition to Hyderabad’s squad. 

With 29 wickets in 30 IPL matches, Mayank Markande will complete SRH’s bowling lineup. With a plethora of starpower on the side, Markande will aim to learn and perform to the best of his abilities.
