9. Delhi Capitals

Even though Delhi Capitals finished ninth in the league in 2023, they are much more relaxed ahead of the upcoming edition. All credit for that goes to the returning Rishabh Pant, who missed the 2023 edition due to multiple injuries which he suffered during a horrific car accident. After spending months in rehab, the star India batter is back and will hope to take Delhi back to the top, as under his leadership, the Capitals finished as the league leaders in 2021 but unfortunately lost to KKR in Qualifier 2.

Ahead of IPL 2024, they have added some firepower in the form of Jake Fraser-McGurk, Shai Hope and Tristan Stubbs. On top of that, the Pant-led side features the likes of David Warner and Mitchell Marsh, who are proven match-winners and are in sublime form at the moment. Amongst Indian talents, all eyes will be on youngster Prithvi Shaw. Ahead of the 2024 season, there were reports claiming that the franchise may release Shaw but even eventually retained him. However, if his season doesn’t work out well, this may be the last time he represents the franchise.

The bowling department looks sorted as well. Anrich Nortje will lead the pace unit while Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel will take care of the spin bowling. Both the spinners have been exceptional with white-ball in recent times and are currently in the reckoning to make it to India’s squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup. Meanwhile, Jhye Richardson, Khaleel Ahmed and Mukesh Kumar can wreak havoc as well. They look to be a balanced side at the moment but to make it to the playoffs, the players will have to push themselves beyond their capability.
