It's not for nothing that the Delhi Capitals (DC) have been categorized as perennial underachievers when it comes to the Indian Premier League. Over the past so many years, their performances have been subpar to say the least.

Despite landing a spot in the playoffs on six occasions, DC have only managed to get to the final once; in 2020, only to help Mumbai Indians (MI) lift their fifth title. Ever since the only edition which was played behind closed doors, it's been three years of failing to land a top-four finish.

Equipped with a balanced squad for the past many years coupled with an experienced backend system, DC have failed to make it big on quite a few occasions.

The IPL committee is yet to finalize the number of retentions which franchises will be allowed to make, as well as the utilization of the Right To Match (RTM) cards.

Here are the five capped and 1 uncapped player Delhi Capitals might retain ahead of the mega-auction:

India spin wizard Kuldeep Yadav's journey with the Delhi Capitals has been wonderful. Since joining the franchise in 2022, the spinner has experienced a career revival, becoming a vital part of both the DC and Indian national team setups. In three seasons he has scalped 47 wickets in 39 matches for DC. Yadav's rise as a bowler came after his refined action and follow-through, which has made him a match-winner. With his ability to contribute with the bat and in the field, Yadav has become an asset for Delhi Capitals, making his retention a no-brainer for the franchise.
