Mumbai Indians broke the bank and signed Ishan Kishan for INR 15.25 crore in the 2022 IPL mega-auction. They couldn’t retain him the last time around, but this time, with the option to retain five capped players, MI are unlikely to let Kishan go to the auction, especially with Rohit Sharma’s time coming to an end.

Kishan has been a part of MI for the last seven years and scored 2325 runs. He has been extremely successful as an opener and given the fact that he can keep wickets as well, Mumbai can kill two with one shot. A keeper who can also open is a rare combination in Indian cricket and that is another reason why MI would definitely look forward to keeping him.

When it comes to money, Kishan can be their fifth retention. In that case, he would be earning INR 14 crore, slightly less than what he was previously earning.
