Deepak Chahar, the 30-year-old pacer, is known for his swing bowling and has delivered the best bowling figure by an Indian in T20Is. Chahar made his IPL debut with Rising Pune Supergiants in 2016 and played just five games in two seasons. In 2018, CSK picked him for INR 80 lakh from his base price of INR 20 lakh. In his debut season for CSK, Chahar took 10 wickets in 12 games at an average of 27.8.
He established himself in the 2019 season as he took 22 wickets in 17 games at an average of 21.9, an economy of 7.47, and a strike rate of 17.5. He was the second-highest wicket-taker for CSK that season. Since 2018, Chahar has taken 42 wickets in the powerplay overs, which is the most by any bowler.
