2. Australia need to better up sloppy batting against spin
Australia was very poor against spin, as they lost six wickets to Indian tweakers in this match. Kuldeep bowled well to dismiss David Warner and clean up Glenn Maxwell. And Ravindra Jadeja outclassed Steve Smith, Alex Carey, and Marnus Labuschagne got out to a poor shot.
Ashwin had Cameron Green caught by Hardik Pandya, out trying to find a way out of a spin tangle. This was very poor batting by Australia against spin. And they play their next two matches in Lucknow against South Africa and Sri Lanka. Proteas have Tabraiz Shamsi and Keshav Maharaj, while Sri Lanka have Maheesh Theekshana and Dunith Wellalage, who are all quality spinners. If they don’t improve against spin, Australia will find themselves in a lot of trouble going forward.
