11. Lockie Ferguson
Pacer Lockie Ferguson's role in the team was to infuse energy in the New Zealand bowling line-up with his speed on bowling-friendly wickets of Australia. Along with veterans Trent Boult and Tim Southee, he could have made the Kiwi bowling unit the most dreadful one for opponents.
But with his mediocre bowling in the tournament, he was unsuccessful in annoying batters. By bagging only seven wickets in five games at an economy of 8.36, the speedster failed to cheer up his team in the competition.
Playing the big games against England and Pakistan, he leaked runs which became problematic for the team. The game against the Men in Green was important for the Kiwis to advance to the final of the tournament, but Ferguson by conceding 37 runs became the favourite for Pakistan batters to attack on.
