England: Chris Jordan

Chris Jordan is England’s specialist bowler for the backend of the innings. He can bowl, full, quick and into the batter’s blockhole. He bowled one of the best super overs in the international circuit against Pakistan in Sharjah on November 30, conceding only one run off the bat and getting a wicket with Umar Akmal and Shahid Afridi on the other end.

Jordan is tall and fast and specialises in bowling the yorkers consistently. He has played close to 300 matches in the T20 circuit including 81 T20Is, bagging over 300 wickets with an economy rate of 8.56. He has best match figures of 4 for 6, which came against West Indies in March 2019.

Jordan would be England’s natural pick for the super over because none of the other pacers – Sam Curran, Reece Topley, Ben Stokes, Chris Woakes or Mark Wood, are quite cut out for this situation. David Willey could be yet another option that the Three Lions might look at for this role.
