Bangladesh (BAN) is all set to take on Australia (AUS) in game 44 of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. The game will be part of the Super Eight stage of the tournament and will be played at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua, on Friday, June 21.

Bangladesh have looked quite shaky in the ongoing tournament, and they will aim to put in their best performances against the Men in Yellow. It could be interesting to see what lineup Bangladesh could field against Australia.

Here is the predicted Bangladesh XI vs Australia:

Openers- Tanzid Hasan, Litton Das (wk)

Bangladesh could open with the duo of Tanzid Hasan and Litton Das, but both failed to impress in Bangladesh’s most recent clash against Nepal. Hasan was dismissed for a duck, but he did score 35 runs against the Netherlands, and he could be given another chance against Australia.

On the other hand, Litton Das could be the wicketkeeper for Bangladesh against the Aussies. Scoring 10 runs in his previous game and just one run against the Netherlands, Das has struggled to find his form as well, and he will aim to improve in the upcoming game.

Middle Order: Najmul Hossain Shanto ©, Towhid Hridoy, Jaker Ali

Bangladesh’s middle order will surely consist of their skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto. The star batter will have to lead from the front, and with just four runs in his previous game, Shanto will be desperate to find his form, if he is unable to perform against Australia, it could spell trouble for Bangladesh.

Towhid Hridoy will look to strengthen Bangladesh’s middle order as well. Having scored nine runs against Nepal and the Netherlands, Hridoy is a big part of Bangladesh’s woes with the bat. As the clash against the Men in Yellow approaches, Bangladesh will expect more from the Hridoy.

Jaker Ali will complete Bangladesh’s middle order. With 12 and 14 runs in his last two matches, Ali has not gotten an adequate amount of time on the field. However, just like the other batters on the side, Ali has not put in his best showing for the team as well, and he will hope for that to change.

All-rounders – Shakib Al Hasan, Mahmudullah

Bangladesh’s all-rounder lineup will consist of their most experienced player, Shakib Al Hasan. Needing no introduction, the veteran is efficient with both the bat and the ball, and with a score of 17 runs and two brilliant wickets in his last game, a lot will be expected from Shakib.

Mahmudullah could be the second all-rounder against Australia, taking no wickets in his last game. Mahmudullah scored 13 runs in just as many deliveries against Nepal, and he too will look to improve against Australia.

Bowlers: Rishad Hossain, Taskin Ahmed, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Mustafizur Rahman

Bangladesh’s bowling attack has been the best aspect of their squad, and with the likes of Rishad Hossain, Taskin Ahmed, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, and Mustafizur Rahman, Bangladesh could prove to be a serious threat to Australia in the upcoming game.

Hossain and Taskin put in good showings in their previous game against Nepal. Ahmed bowled four overs and took one wicket, where he conceded 29 runs to his name. On the other hand, Rishad Hossain failed to take any wickets in the last game, but he conceded just 15 runs in the three overs that he bowled.

Tanzim Sakib and Mustafizur could be the spearheads for Bangladesh in the bowling attack. With four brilliant wickets in his last match, Sakib just conceded seven runs in the four overs that he bowled, and he will look to keep up his performances against Australia.

Mustafizur Rahman bowled four overs against Nepal as well, where he took three wickets and conceded just seven runs in the process. His spell could be crucial for his side against the Aussies.
