4. Top order woes
Team India has proved to be one of the best batting sides in the world in the T20I circuit in the last two months or so, with their fearless and no-nonsense approach from the word go. One of their main strengths has been their middle order, which has made useful contributions time and again.
The presence of Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja has been of immense importance for the side in adding those valuable runs in the middle and last phases of the innings. However, the lack of contributions from the openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul has been a worry for the Men in Blue.
Rohit, since the start of the Asia Cup, has had only one score above 30 in five innings. He also has a below-par average of 25.52 this year in 18 matches. Rahul also seemed to struggle with the strike rate and run-scoring since his return to the side. However, his last two fifties showed promise and signs of getting his rhythm back.
