3. Mumbai Indians (MI)- 7/10
Mumbai Indians (MI) struggled to replicate their previous year’s charismatic performance. Under Harmanpreet Kaur’s captaincy, they went through ups and downs in the league round but eventually, they succeeded in reaching the playoffs. Their journey ended in the playoffs with a five-run defeat at the hands of RCB in the Eliminator held in Delhi.
Harmanpreet showed her belligerent side with the bat multiple times in the competition but didn’t get enough assistance from other teammates consistently. Hayley Matthews and Issy Wong, who played an integral part in MI’s victory in the maiden season, also looked ordinary.
Natalie Sciver-Brunt put up a valiant show with the ball, bagging 10 wickets in nine contests at an economy of 7.96. Mumbai’s bowling attack displayed their courage multiple times in the competition but their batters undermined the team with their poor performances.
