4. Bangladesh vs Pakistan, Asia Cup 2016

Though Bangladesh gave the countries that are part of the upper echelons of cricketing circles a hard time in 50-over formats, they were not seen as a threat in the shortest format of the game. However, they put this trend to rest in the 2016 Asia Cup which was a T20 competition.

Coming on a back of a clinical win against Sri Lanka, the Bangla Tigers faced Pakistan in what was a must-win game for both sides. After opting to bat first, the Men in Green found the Bangladesh bowlers too hot to handle and could only manage to score 129 runs at the end of 20 overs. Al-Amin Hossain was the pick of the bowlers with figures 4-0-25-3.

During the chase, Soumya Sarkar led Bangladesh’s charge with the bat scoring a run a ball 48 to put his team in a strong position. Then Mahmudullah and Mortaza provided the finishing touches to get their team across the line with five balls to spare and five wickets in hand.

With this victory, Bangladesh entered the Asia Cup finals. Unfortunately, they could not clinch the title and lost the summit clash to India by eight wickets.
