T20 cricket is a fickle format where batters have their say more often than not and bowlers have little margin for error. With batters mastering innovative strokeplay and power-hitting, bowlers need to continuously upgrade themselves to be a step ahead. There are certain bowlers who have aced this challenge and have made the T20 circuit their own.

In big tournaments such as the Indian Premier League, teams having top-drawer bowling attacks are the ones that have stayed ahead in the race. It is the reason why franchises have gone all guns blazing to pick quality bowlers at the IPL auctions. For instance, fans saw a bidding war between franchises at the 2022 mega auction to pick seamers such as Avesh Khan, Prasidh Krishna, and Lockie Ferguson. With the upcoming auction scheduled on December 23, there are some gun bowlers who could fetch big bucks at the marquee event.

10. Vidwath Kaverappa

Vidwath Kaverappa is one of the promising fast bowlers in the Karnataka cricketing circles. He took the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2022 by storm with his sensational bowling displays and bagged 18 wickets in eight games at a fantastic economy of 6.36. It included a sensational five-wicket haul against Jammu & Kashmir.

The right-arm fast bowler dented the opposition with the new ball and was also quite impeccable at the death. Kaverappa’s bowling exploits were instrumental in Karnataka reaching the knockout stages. He was also sensational in the 2022 Maharaja T20 trophy and took 17 wickets in 13 games while playing for Gulbarga Mystics. 

The Karanataka pacer continued his rich vein of form in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022 and bagged nine wickets in the five games played thus far. Kaverappa’s stocks in the domestic circuit have been on a meteoric rise and many IPL franchises would like to add the ace seamer to their quiver.
