Trent Boult is one of the best left-arm pacers going around in world cricket at the moment. He has featured in 99 ODIs and bagged 187 wickets at an economy of 23.97. In Tests, the Rotoura-born has picked up 317 scalps in 78 matches at an average of 27.49.

Boult decided to opt out of New Zealand Cricket’s central contract in August 2022 to spend more time with his family and make himself available for franchise T20 leagues. The speedster has not been part of the national side in any format post the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.

The left-arm pacer was seen in action in the Big Bash League 2022-23 and is currently featuring in the International League T20 2023 (ILT20). Given Boult has deprioritized international cricket, he might well decide to bring curtains down on his Test career this year.
