7. Ruturaj Gaikwad

Ruturaj Gaikwad made his IPL debut in 2020 for Chennai Super Kings. He did a decent job with the bat and piled on 204 runs in six games at a strike rate of 120.71. However, it was in the following edition when the Pune-born showed the cricket fraternity what he is capable of.

Gaikwad tormented bowlers with his marauding bat and piled on runs for fun. He amassed 635 runs in 16 matches at a strike rate of 136.26. His staggering tally of runs was the most by a batter in the season. Along with the Orange Cap, the flamboyant batter also grabbed the ‘Emerging Player of the season’ award.

Based on his astonishing showing in the IPL, Gaikwad received his maiden international call-up. However, the right-handed batter has not been able to thrive in the international arena yet. He has featured in nine T20Is and has managed only 135 runs at a strike rate of 123.85.
