10. Brendon Taylor's revelation of being blackmailed to participate in Spot-fixing
Brendan Taylor dropped a bombshell in January this year when he disclosed an incident of an Indian businessman blackmailing him to spot-fix international matches. The former Zimbabwe skipper took to Twitter to let the world know about this incident which took place in 2019.
In the statement, Taylor stated that he was approached by the businessman in October 2019 to fly down to India to discuss some sponsorships and potential T20 competition in Zimbabwe. The cricketer was offered $15,000 to do so. In India, the veteran player ended up having cocaine with the businessman and his colleagues. The following day, he was blackmailed to participate in spot-fixing else a video of him doing drugs will be leaked.
Taylor also added that if this confession results in a multi-year ban he will humbly accept it. He was in fact handed a ban from all forms of cricket for three and a half years.
