2. Mohammad Naim
Mohammad Naim has been one of the exciting prospects in Bangladesh’s cricketing circles. The 23-year-old has played 35 matches in the shortest format and scored 815 runs at a strike rate of 103.42. The southpaw was the team’s premier opener in the last year’s T20 World Cup and was in the reckoning for the upcoming marquee event as well.
However, Naim failed to impress in the opportunities he got and was sidelined from the side. He made three appearances for the Bangla Tigers in the shortest format this year and scored just 21 runs at a strike rate of 65.62.
Following his exit, Bangladesh have tried as many as five players in the opening slot. The experimentation at the top order indicates that the think tank have made up their mind to move in a new direction. Therefore, Naim might not get more opportunities going ahead in the T20 format.
