1. Mahmudullah

Mahmudullah has been one of the top cricketers Bangladesh has ever produced. Talking about the shortest format, he has been a match-winner with bat and ball. The veteran cricketer has featured in 121 T20Is and has amassed 2122 runs at a strike rate of 117.30. On the bowling front, he has picked 38 wickets at an economy of 7.18.

The ace all-rounder has been Bangladesh’s designated finisher in the shortest format of the game. However, he has not been at his best of late. Mahmudullah has featured in eight T20Is this calendar year and managed to score just 151 runs at a strike rate of 110.21.

Due to the mediocre showings, the 36-year-old was dropped from the T20 World Cup squad and was not even part of the stand-by players for the marquee event. The team management seems to have moved past Mahmudullah in the T20 format and with age not on his side, it is likely the think tank would look to groom young players for the finisher’s role going forward.
