The deadline for all 10 Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises to submit their final list of released and retained players was November 26, 2023. This was done in advance of the IPL 2024 auction, which is scheduled on December 19 in Dubai.

Chennai Super Kings offloaded a lot of their overseas players, especially bowlers, and a few Indian players as well, who were warming the bench. One spot was also created as Ambati Rayudu retired after IPL 2023 and had to be released by default. Others like Bhagath Varma, Subhranshu Senapati, and Akash Singh were let go.

In overseas players, Ben Stokes, Kyle Jamieson, Sisanda Magala, and Dwaine Pretorius were released by CSK as well. This frees up a lot of money for CSK especially, by letting Ben Stokes go. They might go for these same players in auctions for cheap prices or other players.

For the players who were released by CSK, there might a be huge demand in the upcoming IPL 2024 auction.

Here are 3 players released by CSK who will be in high demand in IPL 2024 Auction:

3. Sisanda Magala

Sisanda Magala was bought by the Chennai Super Kings with hopes of bolstering their bowling unit in the IPL 2023. He played 2 games for the MS Dhoni-led side and picked one wicket. However, he got injured in a match against Rajasthan Royals and didn’t play for the team again. Magala has had issues with his fitness and injuries in his career.

He was even on the verge of being named in the South Africa World Cup 2023 squad but complained of a knee issue during the ODI series against Australia and was not picked by the Proteas. CSK released Magala due to him being injury-prone. If Magala keeps himself fit for the upcoming future, he might get picked by a franchise in the IPL 2024 auction as pacers are always in demand.
