Six-time IPL champion Ravindra Jadeja made his debut with the Rajasthan Royals in 2008, winning the inaugural season with the side right after India won the U-19 World Cup. He also played for the same side in the following edition, but had to face a ban from featuring in the league in 2010. The reason for the same being that the Saurashtra all-rounder entered an agreement to play for Mumbai Indians without informing RR, which led to a breach of contract between the parties.

According to the rules, Jadeja needed a No Objection Certification (NOC) from RR before switching sides, which he did not follow, and as a result, faced a ban in 2010, where CSK clinched their first-ever title. The cricketer played for now-defunct Kochi Tuskers Kerala in 2011 before joining forces with Chennai Super Kings in 2012. Apart from the 2016 and 2017 seasons, where he represented Gujarat Lions, Jadeja has been a vital cog for CSK and has even captained them in a few games in 2023.
