3. Sri Lanka Vs Bangladesh in the 2022 Asia Cup at Dubai International Cricket Stadium

After losing to Afghanistan, both Bangladesh and Sri Lanka were facing each other to advance to the Super 4 round. On the flat pitch, Sri Lanka’s captain Dasun Sanaka opted to bowl first after winning the toss. Bangladesh’s firm batting line-up put up a solid total of 183 with a loss of 7 wickets.

Sri Lanka, chasing 184, had a shaky start as they lost 4 wickets at the score of 77, but the valiant innings from Dasun Sanka and Kusal Mendis took the team closer to victory. Bangladesh returned to the game after their premier bowler Mustafizur Rahman dismissed Mendis. Sri Lankan innings was collapsing under pressure, but, it was negligent bowling by Bangladesh that cost them another important match.

No-balls bowled in the final overs gave Sri Lankan batsmen a licence to charge against Bangladesh bowlers. After the match, the skipper Shakib Al Hasan blamed no-balls bowled by bowlers for losing the do-or-die match.
