Renowned YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia has been in the headlines, however, for something rather controversial. Popularly known as “BeerBiceps,” Allahabadia was the chief guest in a recent episode of Samay Raina’s creative yet controversial show- 'India’s Got Latent.' Notably, Ranveer is known for asking some controversial aka weird questions on his podcast shows even before the latest controversy erupted.

For the unversed, in the recent supposedly comical show, he came up with a rather crass and bizarre question regarding the personal life of parents and their kids’ involvement in the intimate aspects of life. However, this act of Ranveer has seemingly transpired from India’s got latent to “India’s got angry.” In the aftermath of the incident, several fans and big shots were furious at the YouTuber and demanded stringent legal action on Allahbadia. Moreover, some notable celebrities who were to appear in his podcast in the coming times ahead have cancelled their plans as a protest against one of the biggest podcasters in India.

Meanwhile, when we peep into his past podcasts, it seems quite evident that Ranveer has unceasingly asked many controversial things even to Indian cricket stars as well.

Let us have a look at some controversial moments from Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast involving legendary Indian cricketers:

3. Ishant Sharma

Several Indian cricket stars have been interviewed by the Beer Biceps aka Ranveer Allahbadia. During his cricket-related podcast, he often tries to unearth some lesser-known aspects of the cricket players both on and off the field. Back in June 2023, during a podcast show, renowned Indian pacer Ishant Sharma was invited as the guest. While both the host-guest duo discussed various aspects of cricket life, one unexpected question left Sharma stumped. This happened when Ranveer brought up the segment about famous memes related to the lanky pacer.

Notably, the podcaster recalled an incident from 2014, which took place during the New Zealand and India Test match, which took place in Wellington. During that game, Brendon McCullum took a liking for whacking Indian pacers for fun. So much so that the former legendary wicketkeeper-batter was smashing even the good deliveries. At times fielders also do not support well by displaying some poor fielding efforts on the field, which makes a bowler feel disappointed and frustrated as well.

During that game, Zaheer Khan came on Ishant Sharma’s radar and was seemingly involved in a heated discussion and also hurled abuses at the senior bowling legend. However, when asked about it, the Delhi-based pacer refuted the claims saying that Zaheer Khan was such a big stalwart and he was way better than the former England pace legend, James Anderson. Hence there was no way he would ever think of behaving badly in any way ever with him.

"I had said that to myself. To this day, people don’t understand to whom I said that. I have never abused anyone who has dropped a catch. How can I say that to Zak? He is literally like a guru to me. I have never even thought about saying anything like that. It was just frustration because Brendon McCullum was scoring a lot of runs. There were only three fast bowlers - me, Zak and [Mohammed] Shami. After almost every four overs, we had to bowl again and the wicket was very flat. I was just letting out my frustration on myself,” said Sharma on Allahbadia’s podcast.
