While several famous batters and bowlers have participated in TRS aka The Ranveer Show, Ranveer Allahbadia came up with the idea of inviting the Indian supporting coaching staff to his show as well. As a result, the former India cricketer and current assistant coach Abhishek Nayar too was invited to talk about cricket and related aspects of the game. However, Ranveer Allahbadia left Nayar bamboozled with one of the most controversial questions the podcaster has ever asked a guest. Notably, this podcast took place a month later after the Kolkata Knight Riders clinched the IPL 2024 title, when Nayar was their assistant coach in June, last year.

While cricket is at the forefront usually in a sports-specific podcast, where the champion mentality of famous athletes is explored and the overall intrigue around their life away from the game, an unusual yet controversial open-ended question caught Nayar off guard. Ranveer did not hold back from asking the former India cricketer about the s*x life of Indian cricketers. Interestingly, Abhishek Nayar was so baffled at this question that he ended up asking Allahbadia whether he was curious about the positive or negative side of this unusual question darted at him.

“Are you asking this in a positive way or a negative way? You have asked a very open-ended question. It will happen. Which human being will survive without it? But is it good or bad? Is that your question? Or is your question 'kitna hota hai?,” Nayar said on the TRS podcast.

“I want to answer this, but I want to see what your answer is with me telling,” Ranveer interrupted during the discussion.

It's normal for anyone to do it. It's different for everybody. There is this constant fight and conundrum in every cricketer's mind. Some people will like it, some will abstain. Some cricketers do believe that their power and focus tend to improve if they don't have sex, while others follow that and end up concluding that nothing has changed for them. So, this is a very individual thing. There is no thumb rule. The fact is, at different phases in life, different things work. No one is desperate, but sometimes there is so much pressure that you want to chill,” Nayar concluded.
