The 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) has completed its second week and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are holding the top spot on the points table with three in three victories while Mumbai Indians (MI) are at the bottom of the tally after losing all three games in a row.
The league is delivering ultimate action to cricket enthusiasts but some fans are missing distinguished names who performed extraordinarily in the previous edition of the tournament. These names are illustrious figures in T20 cricket and their absence is hurting their supporters.
Here are three players who are yet to play their maiden games in the 2024 IPL
3. Mitchell Santner
New Zealand’s left-arm orthodox spinner Mitchell Santner appeared in three games for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in 2023 and took three wickets at an economy of 6.76. The Kiwi stalwart has been delivering fine numbers to the Yellow Army since 2019 but the team combination has never allowed him to be a part of CSK’s playing XI in all 14 games of any season.
This year, Santner is warming benches as the Super Kings have continued with their strategy of only one spinner in the playing XI. Between Ravindra Jadeja and the New Zealander, the defending champions have to make a choice and they have gone ahead with the former as the 35-year-old possesses vast experience.
