2. Sarfaraz Khan

Sarfaraz Khan has been under the radar for quite a while but has failed to make the cut in the side. The batter averaged around 122 in the Ranji Trophy 2021-22. Moreover, he has been in incredible form, having scored crucial runs for India A, Mumbai, and the Rest of India at the first-class level.

In 29 first-class outings, the 25-year-old has scored 2928 runs at an average of 81.33 with 10 centuries and eight half-centuries under his belt. He is currently plying his trade in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy wherein he has played seven matches with a top score of 37 against Rajasthan.

While the player has significantly improved his game with the bat, it remains to be seen how swiftly he can earn a national call-up. Chairman of selectors Chetan Sharma deemed the player to play for India ‘very soon’ considering his recent outings in First class cricket.
