After a heated bidding war with Rajasthan Royals, RCB managed to secure the all-round services of Krunal Pandya for INR 5.75 crore at the mega auction in Jeddah. The elder Pandya was primarily drafted in to extend the batting order lower down the order, his darting and mostly accurate skiddy left-arm spin serving as a bonus. The aforementioned traits are exactly what Mumbai Indians retained him for six seasons from 2016 to 2021.

Krunal's total IPL record comprises 76 wickets under his belt at a quite reasonable economy rate of 7.36. His lusty blows down the order, if pulled off with periodic regularity, would be more than a handful for RCB who have struggled with scouting a lower middle-order hitter for quite some years now. The most recent stint of Krunal was with Baroda during the domestic circuit. Baroda's coach, Mukund Parmar, was all praise for Krunal displaying insatiable signs of hunger for success and a steely resolve to mentor the younger crop of players in the side.
