2. Abdur Razzak
From 2006-2012, Abdur Razzak’s presence was important in Bangladesh cricket for the team to leave an impact in big matches. His wicket-taking ability was key to Bangladesh’s success across many competitions, and his record in the Asia Cup proves that. Appearing for his team in 18 games during the continental tournament, he bagged 22 wickets at an economy of 4.67.
In Bangladesh’s five-wicket emphatic victory over India in the 2012 Asia Cup, Razzak was one of the main players with his magical spell in which he gave away only 41 runs and also took one wicket. In that match, both Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar were threatening to take the game away. But Razzak with his astute bowling provided a significant breakthrough to his team by removing Kohli at an individual score of 66.
While in the match against Sri Lanka in the same edition of the tournament, Razzak exuded sheer confidence and delivered yet another economical and wicket-taking spell (10-0-44-2) to help Bangladesh rout Sri Lanka, which had star-studded cricketers such as Tilakaratne Dilshan, Kumara Sangakkara, Mahela Jayawardene, and Lasith Malinga.
