Franchises are likely to have a total salary purse of Rs 95 CR for the forthcoming edition. The franchises must be keeping a close eye on certain players around the world especially on those participating in the ongoing World Cup down under. Bangladesh are fighting hard to book a ticket to the semi-finals of the tournament. Numerous Bangladesh players have stepped up to the challenge in the ongoing T20 carnival and done really well for their team. There are quite a few Bangladesh players who have a fair chance of making the cut in the upcoming auction and could be on their way to playing in the IPL 2023. Mosaddek Hossain The 26-year-old all-rounder has shown on numerous occasions that he is blessed with a repertoire of strokes since his U19 days for Bangladesh. He rose up the ranks with his performances on the field that earned him a national call-up. Mosaddek relishes staggering numbers in First Class cricket. In 43 matches he has scored 3256 runs at an average of 54.26. Moreover, he has also displayed that he can come down the order in the shortest format and blast a few out of the park and help with getting big scores. In the World Cup too, the player has enjoyed some fine performances even with the ball that just goes to show that he can add depth and versatility to the squad. Afif Hossain The Southpaw made his T20I debut for Bangladesh back in 2017 and swiftly impressed fans and the management in his second game with a 26-ball 52. Interestingly, the knock he played was when the batter came in to bat at number eight. Afif can play as an all-rounder but is known predominantly as an explosive batter who comes down the order and can hit the ground running. Afif excels in the shortest format of the sport and can deliver with the bat when his side requires him to get explosive. While there are other players around the world who have an edge over Afif for the similar role, one cannot rule out the possibility of the youngster making it to an IPL squad. Shakib Al Hasan One name that this list would be incomplete without is that of the Bangladesh skipper, Shakib Al Hasan. Arguably the best Bangladesh player ever, he went unsold in the 2022 IPL mega auction held in February this year. Despite going unsold, the star all-rounder has been an integral part of the IPL during his stints with franchises like Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Moreover, even in the ongoing World Cup down under, the player has displayed sensational skills with the ball and his captaincy has been really good. Furthermore, the Bangla lad boasts a plethora of experience of playing in the Indian league and therefore it would not be a difficult task for him to settle into a franchise. 1. Taskin Ahmed The pace spearhead was reportedly approached by the Lucknow Super Giants as a replacement for England’s Mark Wood in IPL 2022. However, reports suggest that the Bangladesh Cricket Board denied NOC and did not allow the pacer from participating in the cash-rich league. Taskin has been phenomenal for Bangladesh in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 as he has scalped eight wickets in just three matches. The pacer is capable of bamboozling batters and has the potential of providing the side with vital breakthroughs. He is certainly one player to watch out for and surely IPL franchises must be keeping an eye on his recent outings with the national side in the shortest format.
