Former Australia all-rounder Shane Watson retired from international cricket in 2015. He had a long career for the Aussies, in which he won the World Cup twice, in 2007 and 2015. Watto retired after scoring 3,731 runs in 59 Tests, 5,757 runs in 190 ODIs, and 1,462 runs in 58 T20Is. The all-rounder also picked a total of 291 wickets in international cricket.

He continued playing in the IPL and other T20 leagues as well after retirement. He played for RCB and CSK in his twilight years. However, he still managed to win the IPL 2018 for CSK with a century in the final and almost repeated the feat in IPL 2019 as CSK lost by one run in the final to MI. He continued for CSK before announcing his retirement after IPL 2020.
