Chris Gayle, popularly known as 'The Universe Boss', has been a brilliant batter for the West Indies over the years. In the 23 years of his iconic career, he redefined the nature of opening batting with his amazing performances. Back in the 2015 World Cup, by scoring a whirlwind 215 against Zimbabwe off just 147 deliveries, Gayle helped his team to register an emphatic victory by 73 runs (D/L method).
In the 15th match of the World Cup 2015, the West Indies faced Zimbabwe after vanquishing Pakistan in their previous game by 150 runs. While batting first after winning the toss, the West Indies lost Dwayne Smith on the second delivery of the game, but before things could go out of hand for the Windies Gayle stepped up to the occasion.
Taking control of the game, Gayle alongside Marlon Samuels hammered the Zimbabwe bowlers by stitching a colossal partnership of 372 runs. He notched up his double ton off just 138 balls.
