1. Dinesh Mongia
Dinesh Mongia made his international debut in 2001 and went on to get 57 caps for India in ODIs where he scored 1230 runs at an average of 27.95. The batting all-rounder was part of India’s World Cup squad in 2003 who were the runners-up in the competition.
Mongia even featured in India’s first-ever T20 match which was played in 2006 against South Africa where he scored 38 runs. Due to inconsistent performances in the later part of his career, the Chandigarh-born was dropped from the team in 2007 and was not picked after that. However, he officially retired from all forms of cricket in 2019.
It might come as a surprise that Mongia also tried his luck in acting. He featured in the film titled ‘Kabab Mein Haddi’ which was released in 2014. The former Indian cricketer played a parody of Amitabh Bachchan in the film and the name of his character was ‘Bhandari’. However, the movie did not perform well at the box office.
