IPL Auction is less than a week away, and with that, the fans are excited to witness the fate of 405 players ready to go under the hammer. For the first time, Kochi will host this marquee event, which will be wrapped in just one day. Last month, some renowned overseas players such as Kane Williamson, Dwayne Bravo, Jason Roy, and Nicholas Pooran were featured on the release list and now, fans are keen to see what they will get in the upcoming event.

On the other hand, there are also a few foreign names who are favourites to be expensive in the auction. Considering their notable performances in recent times, the franchises will not hesitate to splurge big money on these players. In the last few months, these cricketers delivered some great numbers to their national teams, and now eyes are set on them as they might fetch big sums in the most-anticipated auction.

Below are some foreign cricketers who are favourites to attract huge bids in the upcoming event

5. Harry Brook

Harry Brook has performed exceptionally well in T20Is as he showcased his mettle as a middle-order batter with some swashbuckling innings. The 23-year-old displayed some amazing shows in the T20I series against Pakistan and became the leading run-scorer for England with 238 runs in seven games at a scintillating average of 79.33.

In T20 World Cup 2022, his bat remained quiet with just 56 runs in six games at a dismal average of 11.20. However, in the ongoing Test series against Pakistan, he revived his form delivering some quality knocks to his team. So far, in four innings of three matches, he amassed 357 runs and came out as the best batter for England again.

At the IPL auction, his base price will be only INR 1.5 crores but the English cricketer’s recent outings could obligate the franchises to involve in a bidding war to rope him into their teams. In the forthcoming auction, Rajasthan Royals (RR) might look to bid for him to solidify their middle order. Earlier, in November, the South Africa batter Rassie Van Der Dussen was not included in the franchise’s retention list due to his poor run with the bat in the league’s last edition.
