5 Pakistan players who might earn top bids in IPL Auction if given a chance
Looking at their colossal cricketing record, it can be said that these Pakistan cricketers would've received a huge amount at the auction of the biggest cricketing league in the world.
4. Babar Azam
Babar Azam, as skipper, took Pakistan cricket team to the knockouts of the 2021 and 2022 T20 World Cups. After being consistent with the bat for Pakistan in T20Is for three years, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) believed in him by giving him the captaincy mantle in October 2019 against Australia.
Azam, after making his T20 debut in 2016, had established himself as one of the important batters in the team with his spectacular batting displays. In the T20 World Cup 2021, he showcased his captaincy skills by helping Pakistan achieve a thumping 10-wicket victory over arch-rivals India. With this win, he became the first Pakistan captain to beat India in any World Cup game irrespective of the format.
In 104 T20Is so far, Babar has scored 3485 runs at an average of 41.48. Apart from international cricket, he also played for Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League till the 2022 season scoring 2398 runs in 66 games at an average of 43.60. In an ideal scenario, he could’ve been one of the credible names among the IPL franchises. Franchises such as Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) might have invested in him to make their team competitive with his batting and leadership skills.
