1. Sam Curran

Sam Curran has been a proven performer in the T20 circuit. The ace all-rounder has featured in 143 games and scored 1731 runs at a strike rate of 135.65. Also, he has bagged 146 wickets at an economy of 8.46. In the IPL landscape as well, he has struck 337 runs at a strike rate of 149.78 and taken 32 wickets.

Curran’s bowling prowess has witnessed a meteoric rise in the recent past and his exploits in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022 are an indicator of the same. The left-arm pacer has taken ten wickets in four games and that too at an economy of 6.40. He has become a vital cog in England’s T20I setup.

The 24-year-old played for the CSK franchise in the 2020 and 2021 seasons and he became an integral part of the Dhoni-led side. Given how big the Chennai team is in terms of player loyalty, it is likely they would look to have Curran back in the mix and can splurge a hefty sum for him at the forthcoming auction.

Mumbai franchise, on the other hand, have already shown their inclination towards Curran as their SA20-owned franchise, MI Capetown selected him as one of their draft picks for the inaugural season of South Africa’s T20 league. Thus it is likely the five-time IPL champions would try to include the Northampton-born in the setup for the lucrative T20 tournament.

Thus, with both CSK and MI eying Curran, one can witness an intense bidding war.
