1. Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant has been a match-winner for India in the longest format of the game. The 25-year-old has taken the attack to the opposition right from the get-go and smashed 2271 runs in 33 matches at an average of 43.67. He has proven his mettle in the ODIs too, scoring 865 runs in 30 matches at a strike rate of 106.65.

Pant has been quite phenomenal in the Indian Premier League. He has been part of the tournament since 2016 and has aggregated 2838 runs in 98 matches at a strike rate of 147.97. The southpaw was appointed the captain of the Delhi franchise in the 2021 season and did a great job leading them to the playoffs. But he was not able to replicate the same in the last season as DC finished in the fifth position.

Pant met with a car accident on the Delhi-Dehradun highway on December 30 while driving to Roorkee. He is currently hospitalised and is under careful observation. It seems highly unlikely that he will achieve full fitness by the start of the 16th IPL edition.
