4. Shikhar Dhawan
Dhawan has played a significant role in the ODI setup for almost ten years and was frequently the skipper's go-to man when major competitions occurred. In recent years, Shikhar Dhawan has filled in as India's captain when the regular captain or vice-captain is unable to play, especially in ODI matches.
Even though he has been one of the IPL season's most significant players, his strike rate is still a matter of concern. Shikhar Dhawan's problem with the strike rate was one of the main factors in his initial exclusion from the Indian T20I team. The 37-year-old has been lacking in strike rate despite being a capable batter.
Thus Dhawan may have already played his final game for the Men in Blue because it is almost certain that India will have the option to select Gill over him. Shikhar Dhawan deserves some credit for how he has paved the way for the kid, even though Shubman Gill may have edged him out for the opening position in the Indian ODI system.
