5 players who might not find a place in India's 2023 World Cup squad
While some players are out due to injury concerns, some have failed to put up remarkable performances.
1. Suryakumar Yadav
The number one T20 batter and star middle-order player for the Indian cricket team, Suryakumar Yadav, is currently having a bad time. For his incredible batting prowess, the right-handed batter was once compared to AB de Villiers and given the nickname “MR. 360”. However, as the year changed, so did his performance, and that too in a negative way.
In six innings, Suryakumar Yadav returned four golden ducks, which jeopardized his form. In addition, he struggled in his lone Test innings against Australia. Even in the current IPL season, Suryakumar is having trouble scoring runs. He was dismissed for zero against Delhi, although he had previously played innings of 15 and one run.
Unfortunately, he might miss a chance in the squad because the management is wary of taking any chances with the World Cup. However, Surya still has a chance if Shreyas Iyer stays out of the picture because India is still hunting for a fourth batting option. And if Shreyas Iyer is unavailable, Suryakumar Yadav might get a chance.
