Punjab bowler Neelam Bisht was bought by Mumbai Indians (MI) at the auction, for her base price of INR 10 lakh. With her all-round skills, she could reinforce every department of any team. In the upcoming tournament, Bisht would look to grab a chance in the MI playing XI and showcase her abilities to the global audience.

At the auction in Mumbai, MI also roped in Sonam Yadav and Saikaa Ishaque to strengthen their spin attack. With their availability, it becomes difficult for Bisht to break into the first-choice playing XI. In the recently concluded U-19 World Cup, Yadav looked excellent for India, picking up five wickets in six matches at an economy of 7.04.

For MI, believing in Bisht becomes more difficult as she played her last domestic match in November 2021. On the other hand, the other Indian spin option in the squad, Ishaque featured in the Senior Women’s T20 Challenger Trophy 2022-23 and looked good scalping three wickets in two matches at an economy of 4.75.
