<p>In the 2016 U-19 World Cup, India concluded their journey as runners-up under Ishan Kishan’s captaincy.&nbsp;<strong><a href="https://www.crictracker.com/cricket-players/avesh-khan" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Avesh Khan</a></strong>, who was a premier bowler of the side, got 12 wickets in six matches at an economy of 3.48 and ended up as the leading wicket-taker for the team in the competition.</p>
<p>Avesh Khan made his international debut for India in a T20 International (T20I) contest against the West Indies in February 2022 at Eden Gardens. After the 2022 Asia Cup, he was dropped from the Indian team but he made a comeback in the squad in December 2023 and played for the first time under Dravid’s guidance.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.crictracker.com/cricket-players/sarfaraz-khan" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Sarfaraz Khan</strong></a> was the most successful batter for India U-19 in the 2016 U-19 World Cup, notching up 355 runs in six matches at an average of 71.00. The right-handed batter displayed his best in the final against the West Indies U-19 in Mirpur. He was the lone fighter in the game who played a 51-run knock off 89 deliveries.</p>
<p>The Mumbai-born player made his international debut during the 2023-24 Anthony de Mello Trophy. In his debut Test, he contributed half-centuries in both innings to his team’s humongous 434-run win over <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/cricket-news/reports-devdutt-padikkal-to-make-his-test-debut-against-england-in-dharamsala-kl-rahul-unlikely-to-return/" title="England" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>England</strong></a>.&nbsp;</p>

<p>India and&nbsp;<strong><a href="https://www.crictracker.com/t20/ipl-indian-premier-league/mi-mumbai-indians/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mumbai Indians</a> </strong>wicketkeeper batter Ishan Kishan was the skipper of the U-19 side in the 2016 U-19 World Cup. As a batter, he failed to be impactful in the competition but was effective as a captain as he succeeded in taking India to the final.</p>
<p>The left-handed batter made his debut for India before Rahul Dravid’s joining as a coach. In December 2022, Kishan became the fourth Indian batter to score a double ton in One-Day Internationals (ODIs). He achieved this feat against Bangladesh at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury (ZAC) Stadium. <p>In India’s fourth U-19 World Cup title triumph,&nbsp;<strong><a href="https://www.crictracker.com/cricket-players/shubman-gill" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Shubman Gill</a></strong> played an instrumental role with his bat. He racked up 372 runs in five innings of six matches at a breathtaking strike rate of 112.38 and ended up as the second-leading run-getter in the tournament.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Gill played his maiden international game against Australia at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in the 2020-21 Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT).
