In the IPL 2025 mega auction, the 20-year-old Shaik Rasheed was picked by Chennai Super Kings (CSK), who are usually known for relying on experienced cricketers. However, with the likes of Rahul Tripathi and Deepak Hooda failing to do well, Shaik Rasheed got his opportunity in Chennai's seventh game of the season and made an enterprising 27 off 19 balls.

However, the right-handed batter got stuck in the following game against the Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium, where batters generally play free-flowing knocks. Rasheed's 20-ball 19 hurt CSK as they failed to make the most of the powerplay overs. The Andhra batter might get a few more opportunities this season as CSK are all but out of the competition. If he doesn't perform too well, he might still be retained by the Men in Yellow for next season, but making the playing XI could be difficult as new players will be signed from the mini-auction.
