4. Charith Asalanka

Even though Asalanka is a technically sound cricketer, his performances in the Asia Cup was a disaster. 0,1,8,0 are his scores in the four matches that he played and with that, his inclusion in the T20 World Cup looks very unlikely. 

He was dropped from Sri Lanka’s final super four match against Pakistan and was replaced by Dhananjaya De Silva who did extremely well. Danushka Gunathilaka was promoted up the order with Dhananjaya batting at number four.

Asalanka’s T20I numbers look pretty average as well. Batting at number three, the southpaw played 24 T20 Internationals for Sri Lanka and scored 530 runs. With a strike-rate of 119.63, Asalanka needs to prove himself in the nets to earn his ticket for the T20 World Cup.
