5. Hasan Ali

Hasan Ali was never Pakistan’s first choice in the Asia Cup. With Shaheen Shah Afridi (right knee ligament injury) and Mohammad Wasim Jr. (side strain) ruled out of the tournament, he was called up as a replacement.

Even being one of the most experienced bowlers in the squad, Babar Azam and company didn’t pick him in the first team. He played in the final match of the super four against Sri Lanka and gave away 25 runs in the three overs that he bowled. He is very unlikely to play the final of the Asia Cup as Naseem Shah is expected to replace him.

If Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mohammad Wasim Jr. recover on time for the T20 World Cup, Hasan Ali will not find his place in the squad. However, if he gets a call-up against England in the next series, the 28-year-old will look forward to changing that with his performances.
