India captain and opener Rohit Sharma recently spoke about how he had changed his approach in the powerplay and tried to score runs quickly rather than playing conservatively and scoring big hundreds.
Something similar will be needed when he faces the likes of Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Naseem Shah. Rohit will remember how Shaheen got him out in the T20 World Cup 2021 in UAE, which triggered India to a mini-collapse.
But if the ‘hitman’ manages to see out a few overs from the left-arm pacer, expect a big score from him on the Pallekele pitch.
