Asia Cup 2023: 5 Youngest Players in the tournament

The Asia Cup 2023 will begin on August 30, 2023, and will be played in a hybrid model with four matches to be played in Pakistan and the rest of the encounters to be hosted in Sri Lanka, respectively. Speaking of the tournament format, India, Pakistan, and Nepal have been put in Group A, while Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan are in Group B. A total of 13 matches will be played, which includes six league matches, six Super 4 matches, and a final. Pakistan and India were seeded as A1 and A2, while Bangladesh and Sri Lanka were seeded as B1 and B2. In case Nepal and Afghanistan qualify for the Super Four stage, they will take the slot of the team knocked out (Pakistan or India in Group A and Sri Lanka or Bangladesh in Group B). The Asia Cup 2023 will feature a lot of known names, but there will be some youngsters who will be itching to prove themselves on the big stage in the form of a multi-nation tournament where there will be immense cut-throat competition between the teams coming from the same region. The youngster, who had made his ODI debut in 2019, has been continuously performing well. His batting technique impresses everyone. Gill has played 27 ODIs and has made 1437 runs at an average of 62.47 including 4 centuries and 6 fifties to his name. He became the youngest batter in ODIs to hit a double century in the format when he achieved the feat against New Zealand earlier this year. The pitches in Sri Lanka will suit his style of batting as he is a good player of both pace and spin and his temperament is something that stands out. 4. The 22-year-old made his debut in 2021 and so far has played 7 Tests, 17 ODIs, and 31 T20Is for the Bangladesh side. The left-arm pacer manages to get good speed in the air and off the pitch and has 26 wickets in ODIs thus far with a best of 4/21 and an economy of 5.57. Despite the presence of Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman, all eyes will be on Shoriful as he is expected to shine on conducive pitches in Pakistan and Sri Lanka. 3. He only recently made his debut in T20Is on the tour of West Indies and impressed one and all with one fifty and a score of 49*, as he finished as the highest run-getter in the five-T20I series. If he manages to make his debut for India in Asia Cup 2023, he is sure to impress with his ability to play spin and pace both well and for being aggressive with the bat. 2. Noor Ahmad (18 years) Noor Ahmad, the 18-year-old Afghanistan spinner, showed the world what he could do in the recent IPL 2023 where he turned out for Gujarat Titans. He only made his international debut recently and has 6 wickets in total in ODIs and T20Is. But he has a lot of experience in T20s, having played 71 matches and picking 74 wickets with the best of 4/10. He will be one of the players to look out for, as he will support Rashid Khan and Mujeeb Ur Rahman on turning pitches in Sri Lanka. 1. Jha is a left-handed batter and right-arm medium pacer who has played 22 ODIs for Nepal since making his debut against the USA in 2021. So far, the Sarlahi-born has made 452 runs in 18 innings with a best of 67* and has 3 fifties to his name. Interestingly enough, the Nepal bowler is renowned for delivering the 'Perfume ball' which sends shivers to batters. It was these lethal bouncers that he got the attention of the selectors. Now speaking of his bowling, Gulsan Jha has 21 wickets to his name with an economy of 6.23 and best bowling figures of 3/28. He will be eager to do well against heavyweight teams like India and Pakistan in Group A of the Asia Cup.
