Bangladesh's team will be eager to break their hoodoo and win the Asia Cup tournament for once. The Tigers had to make some big changes to their Asia Cup 2023 squad after a few injuries and illnesses.

Shakib Al Hasan will captain the side, and they have talented batters in the squad like Mohammad Naim, Najmul Hasan, Towhid Hridoy, and the experienced Mushfiqur Rahim. The bowling unit has Shakib, Mehidy Hasan, Shoriful Islam, Taskin Ahmed, and Mustafizur Rahman.

However, unfortunately, they will miss their most experienced ODI batter in Tamim Iqbal, who ruled himself out due to a back injury that had led to his one-day retirement as well. Tamim later turned down his retirement plans but he had to step down from captaincy, keeping the Asia Cup and World Cup in mind.

Another issue for Bangladesh will be the availability of Litton Das, who has an illness and will remain at home to recover. It is possible that he will join the Bangladesh squad later. This will mean the Tigers will not have much experience at the top, and much more pressure will be put on Shakib, Mushfiqur, and other batters.
