Asia Cup 2023: Rating teams based on their performances

Team india played a fierce brand of cricket in the 2023 Asia Cup and snatched the trophy from Sri Lanka. In the final, they bowled out Sri Lanka on a mere 50, riding on Mohammed Siraj’s extraordinary bowling performance (6/21 in seven overs). After the magnificent bowling show, Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan came out on the field and took the team home with 10 wickets in hand.

However, things weren’t great for India in the initial phase of the tournament as their batters struggled against Pakistan bowlers in the washout game in the group round at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. After the washout match, Indian bowlers failed to perform up to the mark against Nepal. After the shaky performance in the group stage, India emerged as a dominant team in the Super Four.

In the high-octane match against Pakistan, they registered an emphatic 228-run win while they shattered the hearts of Sri Lankan fans in the Super Four as well, handing the six-time Asia Cup champions a 41-run defeat. Against Bangladesh, they struggled with both bat and ball but on the enormous day, they delivered their best and emerged as a formidable force with their one-sided 10-wicket triumph.
